Layout/Anatomy of a Page Design

The anatomy of a magazine consist of how you're going to split up your magazine and the different sections. There's different elements and some of these include

  • Cover Page- This is the first page of the magazine which makes it the most important. It has the main titles and subtitles and a picture of the main topic. This is what your audience will be first looking at so it has to look very presentable.
  • Table of Contents- It creates a breakdown of what will be inside the magazine and how its organized. It can be designed with or without margins, it's honestly however you like it.
  • Imprints/Contributors- This part of the magazine is usually placed in the front of the book but can also be put in the back. It's basically the list of all the people that put some type of work in the magazine. The design is usually simple and the logo is placed at the top of the page.
  •  Letter from the Editor- This is the first editorial page of the magazine. It's a welcome letter from the editor of the magazine explaining  the content of the topic.
  • Articles- The stories that's going to be talked about in the article.
  • Back of the book- This is the last part of the magazine that consist of remaining content, shorter articles, listings, remaining columns and horoscopes. The design remains as the beginning of the magazine and follows a rigid structure.
